Leaves on drying rich reddish mauve on both surfaces, slightly paler & shiny above, leathery, elliptic to ovate; margin entire; base wedge-shaped, apex tapering, more or less abruptly with slender pointed tip; midrib flat slender above, rounded raised below; lateral veins well spaced, obscure above, visible, raised below, looping , disappearing at the margin; intercostal veins subladder-like, faintly visible above, visible below. Leaf bud narrowly conical with spotted hairs. |
