| Plant Information |
Slender, clustering rattan to 3m, stems without sheaths 4mm dia. With sheath 8mm dia. Internodes 10cm, knee & flagellum absent. Sheath green with sparse, black, short spines. Ocrea well developed, to 3cm in length, with sparse spines as on sheath, inflated, the chamber being inhabited by ants. Leaves 80cm, including 8 cm petiole and 30 cm cirrus. Leaflets 6 on each side of rachis, more or less linear with praemorse tips, white indument on underside. |
